In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Breakfast that guests remember — Multiple reviews single out the breakfast as a highlight — from fresh bread and cheeses to sparkling wine, with plenty of variety and quality. It's the kind of start to the day that makes the stay feel worthwhile.
  • Good value for money — With rooms from £81 and a location that balances convenience and affordability, guests often comment on the favourable price-to-quality ratio — especially given the breakfast and room standards.
  • Convenient transport links — A tram stop right outside the hotel makes it easy to reach the city centre, main station, and sights like Marienplatz. Several guests note the ease of getting around, even if it's not the very centre.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Underground parking is tight — The garage has narrow spaces that can be a challenge for larger cars. Guests advise care when manoeuvring, though street parking alternatives exist nearby.
  • Not right in the historic centre — You're a couple of kilometres from the main sights — about a 30-minute walk to Marienplatz, or a short tram ride. The location scores high for convenience, but it's not the immediate Old Town.
  • Some rooms are compact — A few guests found standard rooms small, with simple furnishings and dated carpet. If space is a priority, consider the larger categories or Superior rooms.

“One morning they served a fantastic breakfast with fresh bread, various cheeses, and even some sparkling wine — a brilliant way to start the day. Mr Sebastian at reception was very kind, recommended a local dinner spot, and made us feel like the only guests that mattered.”

“Spacious, lovely room with a large comfortable bed. The bathroom had plenty of branded toiletries — shampoo, shower gel, soap, lotions — all with a pleasant scent, plus a great hairdryer. We were given extra towels, and every day two bottles of water were left free of charge, which was handy, especially on Sundays when shops are closed. Breakfast was tasty and varied, with staff quickly replenishing food and clearing tables. All staff were friendly, polite, and spoke good English. The location was convenient — a tram stop nearby, a bit far from the subway, with a bakery and shop across the street. Relatively close to the good German restaurant Goerreshof Wirtshaus.”

“Excellent value for money, nicely furnished room with a renovated interior and skilful, decent staff. All in all, a particularly good location — about 30 minutes on foot from Marienplatz, close to Königsplatz and various cafés, and near Getränke Oase.”

8.6Verified guest

“I stayed in a small room with simple furniture in a strict, contrasting style, with grey-brown carpeting. It had basics plus a kettle, mini fridge, TV, and safe. The radiator under the window had individual control — usually off, but you could turn it on by setting the dial to '4' or '5'. The bathroom plumbing was new and worked well. There was constant ventilation hum from the exhaust duct, but it wasn't noticeable at night. Air conditioning was central and we didn't use it. The real plus was breakfast — very good, with eggs, sausages, German sausages, salads, fruit, juices, natural yogurt, and good coffee. There was even a bucket of champagne on ice, though we never tried it. The location was good — transport close by, two metro stops to the main station. Nearby museums like the Pinakotheken are worth a visit; the old one is a must.”

8.6Verified guest

“I read many reviews before the trip. Breakfasts here are really very good! Staff were always helpful. Regarding bed changes — if you want them more often than every 3-4 days, you can ask at reception. You can also request slippers, bathrobes, and brushing kits. There's a tram stop near the hotel, but we drove. I asked for a room in the old building; they accommodated. The new building is only five metres down the street, so it doesn't matter much. Parking is in an underground garage, but be prepared for tight spaces with a large car. There are other parking spots around. We always used the hotel garage, sometimes struggling to get out of the car. The location isn't the city centre — a couple of miles on foot — but not the outskirts either. Overall, the hotel justifies its four stars.”

“Excellent breakfast. Room very clean and spacious for three adults. Close to transport to downtown. Good restaurants in the area. Quiet.”
